Hot air ballooning in Winnipeg

Get ready to take an approximately one-hour flight in a hot air balloon over Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba!

The flight will offer wonderful views of Winnipeg's many beautiful bodies of water, including four major rivers and Lake Winnipeg, the 11th largest freshwater lake in the world.

Winnipeg is located at the confluence of the Red and Assiniboine rivers, an area commonly referred to as The Forks. Much of Winnipeg's downtown development is located in The Forks area. The La Salle and Seine rivers are the other major rivers in Winnipeg.

Lake Winnipeg is located north of the city. The lake contains a few islands and is surrounded by limestone cliffs, beaches and caverns.

Feel free to bring your camera, video camera or binoculars. However, please bring a case to protect them from being broken during landing.

After landing, enjoy a champagne toast. The champagne toast is an age-old tradition following a safe hot air balloon ride.

**You must be at least age 10 to go on this tour. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Please plan to be with the tour up to 4 hours in total to allow for check-in, travel to the launch location, safety briefing, set-up, pack-up after landing and the return drive to the original meeting location. Meeting times are between 5:00 am and 6:00 am for sunrise flights and between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm for sunset flights. Exact details will be reflected on your E-ticket. Approximate launch times are 6:30 am and 5:30 pm.

IMPORTANT NOTES
~ When making your reservation, you will be asked to provide the full name, age and weight of each passenger. The weight MUST be accurate within 10 lbs. This is a matter of aircraft safety. The balloon pilot must accurately calculate weight and balance to ensure flight safety for all passengers.
~ Passengers MUST sign a Liability Waiver Form to make flight.
~ Ballooning is extremely weather dependent. There must be less than 10 knots of wind to balloon safely, and there must be no impending storms approaching. Safety is the main concern. The rides will be canceled due to weather conditions or other safety reasons, such as equipment malfunction, pilot illness or injury that could affect the flight's safety.
~ Although hot air ballooning is a safe activity, accidents, incidents and injury can occur. There is always a chance of potential injury, damage to personal property or, perhaps, death in an extreme situation.
~ Passengers MUST be in good physical condition because of possible rough landings. All passengers must be able to climb in and out of the basket, stand for the entire flight and walk out of a field, if necessary.
~ Those who have had recent surgery; injuries; hip, back or knee problems; health concerns; physical limitations; is or may be pregnant; or severe auditory restrictions will not be able to go up in the balloon.
~ Long pants, sleeves and solid footwear are recommended. It is recommended that you layer your clothing so that you may remove or add clothing for comfort. NO open-toed shoes, heels or sandals will be allowed.
